SPOT SHOT FOR THE SOUL – Aug. 18th

August 19, 2011

BIBLE READING PLAN: Isaiah 1-5

MEDITATION VERSE:

“Come now, let us reason together says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 1:18-20

THOUGHTS:

  • The choice that we have before us is not that difficult. It is clear enough that God challenges us to reason with him; God challenges us to a debate. WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THAT DEBATE?
  • We have to be convinced that we are wrong and that God is right.
  • We must believe that our sins have permanently stained our souls…
  • We must believe that only God can cleanse us; there is not spot-shot that we can apply that will remove the stain of sin from our soul, but God can.
  • Nothing is impossible for God; there is no sin to great – there is no stain on our soul too deep that God cannot cleanse it. God can take a life stain red from the guilt of sin and make it as white as snow.
  • All that God requires is a willing and obedient heart.

PRAYER: Lord, Thank you for the cleanse work of salvation. Thank you for being willing to remove the stain of sin from a rebellious sinner. May I never lose the appreciation of the grace and mercy that you have shown me; create in me a willing and obedient heart. Amen
