SEEING AND SERVING – Aug. 29th

August 29, 2011

BIBLE READING PLAN: Isaiah 6-10

MEDITATION VERSE:

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8

THOUGHTS:

  •  Isaiah had just saw God in His glory and was terrified by it.
  • The result of Isaiah seeing God’s glory was a willingness to be sent.
  • A fear of God does not result in debilitating inactivity rather it causes obedience and activity.
  • An unwillingness to serve may be the result of never truly seeing God.
  • To truly see God, requires a work of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Lord, create in me eyes to see.  Create in me a heart that knows you and desires you.  Create in me a heart the wants to be sent and wants to be obedient because of who you are. Amen
