RESPONDING TO YOUR SALVATION- Aug. 30th

August 30, 2011

BIBLE READING PLAN: Isaiah 11-18

MEDITATION VERSE:

“And you will say in that day: Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.” Isaiah 12:4

THOUGHTS:

  •   We are told that this will be the response of a people who are filled with joy over the fact that God is their salvation.
  • God is my salvation – I can say that God is my salvation: I will trust in him, and will not be afraid: for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.
  • The question then becomes, “how am I responding to that reality in joy?”
    • Am I thankful?
    • Do I call upon His name?
    • Do I tell others about what He has done?
    • Do I announce how awesome He is?
  • It is so easy to take for granted the incredible gift of salvation.  It is so easy to forget that the Lord was angry with me but that He turned that anger away through the sacrifice of His son that He may now comfort me.
  • When we strive to remember all that God has given us; when we with joy draw water from the well of salvation then we will naturally respond with a heart that is thankful, asks Him for help, tells other people what great things he has done and how great he is.

PRAYER:   Lord, thank you for my salvation.  Thank you for saving me while I was still in rebellion against you.  Thank you for being my strength and that I do not have to be afraid because you are trustworthy. Lord, fill my heart with joy as I find refreshment in your well of salvation.  May that joy overflow to all that I know.   Amen
