  1. Provocative quote, JD. I prefer to think of the Bible as containing multiple revelations from God rather than considering it as a whole entity. The Bible as a whole — through metonymy, I suppose — becomes a revelation to us, although we might say the actual revelations were given to Moses, through David, to Luke, Paul, etc. and recorded through His divine intention. Regardless of how we phrase it, it surely does impart plenty to be just such a “safe guide”!
