FREE EBOOK FRIDAY (The Pursuit of God)

November 27, 2015

51l5b37AaHL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_If you follow my Facebook site, Daily Devotionals, you will know that I appreciate A.W. Tozer.  I tend to post a lot of his quotes.

My appreciation of Tozer started 20 years ago when I first read his book, The Pursuit of God.  Tozer was a pastor of several churches over three decades.  Much of his writing reflects a his concern that the church was on a dangerous course toward compromising with the world.  While he died in 1963, I find his concerns still very applicable and insightful.

Therefore, I was very excited to find The Pursuit of God for FREE as an EBook!  If you have never read any of Tozer’s writing, here is your chance.

Here is the link:  The Pursuit of God

“We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum.”
~ A. W. Tozer

  2. I have staples like flour and sugar in the pantry because I use them all the time and can’t be without them. Tozer’s works are the staples that sit next to my Bible on my desk. He was the perfect combination of pastor, prophet, and mystic. Thanks for bringing him to a new generation of readers here at WP😊

    • You are very welcome. I never come away from reading Tozer without something new or fresh to think about.

  3. I enjoyed the book!

    • It is a good book; it is on my list of re-reads. I just need to stop adding to my list of first reads if I’m ever going to get to the re-read pile.

  4. Thanks for sharing Toser with the world. This book “The Pursuit of God ” has probably marked my life more than any other book except the Bible. It came to me at a point where my faith had left God a distant and inaccessible ideal. Right from the first chapter I felt my soul leaping at the chance to enter a knowledge of and a relationship with our Heavenly Father.
I would strongly recommend anyone who is serious about their faith, to read or re-read it. I myself return at least once a year to take a fresh look at my own pursuit of God.

    • You are welcome and thank you for your comment; what an awesome testimony. Thanks for sharing. God Bless!
